One Letter, Big Difference:
Did you know that just a single letter can make a world of difference in how much professional power and respect you—or your recommender—command?
Let’s break it down with a few examples:
🎓 Advisor vs. Advisee
Are you guiding someone through a process, offering wisdom, or steering decisions? You’re the Advisor.
Are you the one receiving that guidance? That makes you the Advisee.
💼 Employer vs. Employee
The Employer is the one who hires, leads, and pays.
The Employee is the one who works under that leadership.
🧠 Mentor vs. Mentee
Mentor is the guide, the expert, the one offering their time and experience.
Mentee is the learner, the one being guided.
In resumes and letters of recommendation, make sure you don't mix things up because of one or two letters!
